The 2007 visit to Clisson took place from Thursday 23rd August until Monday 27th August. The fast ferry from Portsmouth to Cherbourg was followed by a meal and a night's rest in the IBIS Hotel just outside the town. We arrived in Clisson at 1pm for a reception and buffet lunch at the Garenne Valentin. Other highlights of the visit were the hoisting of the Welsh and French flags at the "Roundabout of Europe", a visit to the municipal workshops based around the theme of sustainable development, the exhibition about Olivier de Clisson and a guided visit of the chateau. A visit to the vineyard of Miriam and Patrice Héraud gave an opportunity to sample and purchase their range of wines.
The weekend was brought to a grand conclusion with a dinner in Saint Hilaire where both Welsh and French voices joined together in a musical expression of the friendship between our towns.
