Exchange Visits

The members of the Cowbridge Town Twinning Association visit Clisson every other year where they are hosted by local families. In intermediate years the Clissonais visit Cowbridge.

When grants for exchange visits were available from the European Commission, visits used to be constructed around a theme. As an example, the visit to Clisson in 2005 was themed around the use and treatment of water and the 2004 visit included a visit to the Jane Hodge Hotel and was themed around the facilities for handicapped people in the Vale. The 2006 theme was built around the work in Cowbridge with educationally challenged adults and included a function with the Cowbridge Monday Club.

The social aspects of the visit are also important in creating and cementing friendships between the two towns.

Apart from the annual official visit there are many other contacts and short visits between Cowbridge and Clisson for sporting exchanges, holidays and family celebrations such as weddings and birthdays.
